Radiodetection Schonstedt Maggie - Metal and Magnetic Locator

Locating buried assets quickly and safely requires the right tool for the right job.Whether you are locating pipes, cables, property corners, or other asset markers, Schonstedt and Radiodetection have you covered.

On March 1, 2018, SPX Corporation’s Radiodetection business announced the acquisition of Schonstedt Instrument Company. While Schonstedt is an industry leader in magnetic locators, Radiodetection is an industry leader in pipe and cable locators. The combination of our two world-class businesses will create an even stronger organization

However, among some of the most difficult assets to find are buried metallic objects. For these, Radiodetection recommends Schonstedt Magnetic Locators, capable of detecting ferrous metal (iron) objects up to 20' (6 m) below the surface of the ground.

How does a Magnetic Locator work?

Any metal object buried in the ground that has ferrous content will distort the Earth's magnetic field and appear to acquire a field of its own. A Magnetic Locator detects the difference between the ferrous object's field and the Earth's magnetic field.

The range of Schonstedt Magnetic Locators supply by PT. Visi Indotama Perkasa are Maggie, GA-52Cx, GA-72Cd, GA-92XTd, Spot, RD312

Below is an explanation of each product :

• Maggie Magnetic Locator : The Maggie is a pistol-grip magnetic locator that combines sensitivity and precision with single-handed operation and a visual display. The Maggie combines the best features of two flagship Schonstedt products: the sensitivity and precision of the GA-52Cx, and the single-handed operation of the GA-92XT.

• GA-52Cx Magnetic Locator : The GA-52Cx Locator detects the magnetic field of iron and steel objects, with unmatched sensitivity. Only two Controls! Designed for one-hand operations, the On/Off-Sensitivity and Volume controls are located on the underside of the cover. This provides easy access, protects the knobs and contributes to their overall ruggedness and dependability.

• GA-72Cd Magnetic Locator : The GA-72Cd Locator detects the magnetic field of iron and steel objects. It provides audio detection signals that peak in frequency when the locator’s tip is held directly over the target. The GA-72Cd has the option of nulling or peaking. Only two Controls! Designed for one-hand operations, the On/Off-Sensitivity and Volume controls are located on the underside of the cover. This provides easy access, protects the knobs and contributes to their overall ruggedness and dependability.

• GA-92XTd Magnetic Locator : GA-92XTd with Membrane Switch & Precision Signal Strength Indicator. Our popular GA-92XTd magnetic locator was introduced in 2002 and quickly became known as perhaps the most portable and easy-to-use magnetic metal locator on the market. With one hand, you can detect the magnetic fields of all ferromagnetic objects property markers, manholes, septic tanks, well casings, valve boxes, cast iron pipes, steel drums, unexploded ordnance up to sixteen feet below the surface.

• Spot Magnetic Locator : Spot, the “Next Generation Stick Locator” offers accuracy and ease of use in a sleek, light-weight package with improved ergonomics. If you are looking for high accuracy at a lower cost, put Spot on the trail of your next locate!

• RD312 : The RD312 Metal Locator enables operators to locate lost, buried or hidden metal manhole covers and access points. The RD312  locates lost or hidden metal covers in the street. It is light and simple to use. Gain can be manual or auto. The position is indicated by a varying pitch tone, the highest pitch indicating the maximum response over the target. It is robustly constructed from high impact ABS and aluminium and is weatherpoof to IP54. It weighs 1kg and is easy to use, swiftly locating lost manhole covers, valve boxes, in the street. The RD312 will typically run for 30 hours from a 9v alkaline battery.
